Ashirov Nurken Nurgalievich

Born on January 20, 1985 in the village of Pioneer, Zhambyl district, Zhambyl region. In 1991 he went to the first class of a district high school in the village of Enbek. 1992-1997 studied at secondary school number 25 in Taraz, since 1997 – at the music school named after A. Zhubanova. In 2002, after graduating with honors in the dombra class, Nurken Ashirov became a student of the Kazakh National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy. After that, in 2012, he graduated from the magistracy with a degree in Orchestra Conductor. He began his career in 2003 as part of the Academic Folklore and Ethnographic Orchestra named after N. Tlendieva as a soloist. In 2004-2010, as a student, he worked in the orchestra as the Principal accompanist and soloist. In 2008, he became a member of the Tartu group under the leadership of Meyrambek Bespaev, while simultaneously teaching in the music school named after A. Zhubanova. Nurken’s repertoire includes folk kui, as well as works by Kazakh and foreign composers, which are masterfully performed by a musician. Ashirov is a unique dombrist who has absorbed all the tricks and forms of ownership of a national instrument, performing modern kui and widely promoting this art form. He is one of the most talented young dombraists of the republic. A lot of articles have been written about him on the pages of republican newspapers and magazines. In 2011, the writer D. Doszhan, admired by the talent of Nurken Ashirov, wrote the short story Virtuoso. The famous kyushi, People’s Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Akhmediyarov, in his opening speech at the concert of Nurken Ashirov, praised the talent of the musician: “Among modern young kyushi there are no equal to Nurken. He is a composer, performer, and conductor – one of the young musicians with a bright future. ” The diverse performance of each cuy at the concerts of Nurken Ashirov does not leave indifferent any spectator. Since 2001, he has also been a regular participant in many festive concerts of the republic. Within the framework of the Days of Culture of Kazakhstan in Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Turkey and other countries, he told the whole world about the Kazakh national instrument – dombra, and the audience applauded the musician’s virtuoso game.

At holiday concerts in Vienna and Astana dedicated to Kazakhstan’s chairmanship of the OSCE, as well as at a concert dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the SCO, Nurken Ashirov was fully awarded a standing ovation for his performances. The first solo concert of Nurken Ashirov took place when he was only 9 years old in the city of Taraz. Then in 2000 a solo concert “Taraz Tolgauy” was held here, dedicated to the 2000th anniversary of Taraz. After this, solo concerts are held in Astana, Almaty, Taraz. In 2007, his first solo disc Ulgissa was released.
