Zhunusova Makpal Mukhamediyarovna (born January 11, 1964 in the village Terekty of the Karkaralinsk district of the Karaganda region ) – Soviet and Kazakh pop singer (dramatic soprano) and professor. Folk Artist of Kazakhstan (1994), Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1999). Laureate of international competitions.
At the age of 22, Makpal Zhunusova became an Honored Artist of Kazakhstan and at the age of 31 she became a Folk Artist of Kazakhstan. In 1981, the Dnepropetrovsk All-Union Contest won the Grand Prix, becoming the top ten best female singers in the USSR (after Rosa Rymbayeva). Makpal Zhunusova is a rare talented singer, a wonderful singer. She has toured all over Kazakhstan, in the former Soviet republics and abroad, singing songs about the Fatherland, love and friendship, man and nature. The pleasure of listening to Kazakh folk songs performed by her is incomparable.
