The department of folk instruments occupies a special place in our school. Famous art masters in Kazakhstan founded this section. In particular, the first heads of the department were People’s Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Fatima Balgaeva, Honored Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Isakhan Aitzhanov and Professors Habidolla Tastanov, Malgazdar Aubakirov, Kubysh Mukhitov, Peter Kan, Fedor Legisuneev, Zeesembev Zerese, Berez Also in 1977 The first class of kyl-kobyz was opened at the school, and Abdimanap Zhumabekov became a teacher. In the fall of 2016, our school hosted the opening of the Balgaeva Hall, People’s Artist of Kazakhstan, professor and class leader Kobyz.
Currently, 28 teachers work at the Department of Folk Instruments. The head of the department is Torekhan Karibaev, a graduate of this school, the holder of the sign “Yu. Altynsarin”. Pupils study dombra, kyl-kobyz, kobyz-primu, button accordion, dombra-primu, sherter and instrumental, compositional, dombra singing and folklore instruments. In December, in honor of the 50th anniversary of the department, a gala concert was held in the Kazakh Concert Hall. Students of the department often take part in international and national competitions, take part in celebratory concerts in Astana and in all concert halls of our city.
